New Brushless, Explosion-Proof Web Guide Actuator

AccuWeb’s new brushless, explosion-proof actuator is ideal for printing, coating and laminating operations where a spark-free environment is critical.

(Madison, Wis.) – AccuWeb, Inc. has introduced a new brushless, explosion-proof actuator, the first of its kind for web guiding applications. AccuWeb’s new brushless system directs electrical current to the motor windings electronically rather than using the mechanical brushes found in conventional servo motors. This design creates no sparks and reduces maintenance by eliminating the need for brush replacement. The motor’s housing is explosion-proof, an added safety feature for printing, coating and laminating operations where combustible solvents are used. It replaces the costly purged systems that are used with other hazardous duty actuators.

This new brushless actuator interfaces with AccuWeb’s Micro 4000® NET (network-compatible) controller and compensated array edge detectors. www.accuweb.com 608-223-0625
