March 21, 2014 - Along with weight-minimized design that promotes fuel economy, EPS series provides high steering power and low cogging torque (6.5 mNm for EPS-B77). Models EPS-B67 (67.0 mm dia), EPS-B72 (72.0 mm dia), and EPS-B77 (77.0 mm) feature 12.0 V input. Respectively, above models offer no load speed ratings of 2,340, 2,130, and 2,050 rpm; max output power ratings of 300, 360, and 400 W; and max efficiency ratings of 82%, 83%, and 80%.

Industry’s Highest Power & Lowest Cogging Brush EPS Motor

Hong Kong – Johnson Electric today announced a powerful motor platform for automotive electric power steering.  This EPS series motor platform provides the industry’s highest steering power and lowest cogging torque through innovative brush motor technology. It delivers 20% higher steering power and 10% lower cogging torque in comparison with existing brush motor technology.  The motor weight is also reduced 10% to improve fuel economy.

Johnson Electric’s EPS series brush motor platform employs innovative design features to generate the industry highest steering power, while maintain low cogging torque that is comparable to the brushless EPS motor technology.

“Electric power steering improves fuel economy and driving comfort,” said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric’s senior vice president of Strategic Marketing. “The new EPS series provides a cost effective and efficient steering solution,” he added.
