Newtex Introduces Breathable Aluminized Material

Newtex is proud to introduce Z-Flex® Air™, the first line of breathable aluminized fabrics designed to keep firefighters and industrial operators cooler and more comfortable in extreme conditions and workspaces.

These breathable protective fabrics allow body heat and perspiration to escape, improving Total Heat Loss (THL) by 65%, while still delivering all the Radiant Protective Performance (RPP) and Thermal Protective Performance (TPP) of a standard Z-Flex® reflective aluminized fabric. This revolutionary innovation is already being recognized as a long overdue and a necessary technological advancement in industries where heavy loads, insulated garments, and situational stress all contribute to disproportionately high rates of heat stress, cardiac arrest, and workplace fatalities.

Newtex utilizes a proprietary micro-perforation process to optimize the placement, pattern and dimensions of micro-perforations on the aluminized fabric. Z-Flex Air is now commercially available with leading US Industrial PPE manufacturers and will be available in NFPA certified proximity suits from leading manufacturers in the fall of 2015.
