Safety Reaches a Higher Level at Loading Sites

Florence, SC March 19, 2009-Loading area safety has been elevated with the use of safety break-away couplings providing protection to personnel and the environment, in the case of accidental spills. Carbis, Inc. known to many as providers of safe access and bulk loading solutions is taking safety to a higher level with the offering of the safety break-away couplings.

Carbis has recognized that in addition to safely moving personnel on and off the vehicles that transport the materials, the transfer of products and raw materials on and off the vehicle itself posse's threats not only to personnel but also to the environment. The new safety break-away coupling will prevent product loss and damage to loading equipment in the event of an unintended pull-away of trucks, railcars, barges and ships. The coupling provides:

o Non-return valves that when activated prevent product loss and protect personnel and the environment from harmful discharges.

o Non-destructive separation, allowing for quick reassembly without tools or spare parts, in turn reducing downtime.

o Couplings can be newly equipped or retrofitted to loading arms and hoses.

President of Carbis, Inc. Sam Cramer stated "These couplings are just another tool we offer our clients to be able to protect their workers, and the environment surrounding their facilities. The couplings offer this protection while at the same time reducing downtime associated with damages incurred from unintentional pull-away situations."
