Laird Technologies Introduces its New 5.0GHz Vertically Polarized Base Station Antennas for WiMax

Family of Antenna offer 60-Degree, 90-Degree and 120-Degree Versions

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - September 30, 2008 - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of customized performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced its new family of 5.0GHz Vertically Polarized Base Station Antennas for WiMax. There are three versions to choose from including a 60-degree version, 90-degree version and 120-degree version, offering the operator options for sector coverage.

Laird Technologies utilized state-of-the-art design tools to design the antennas to be fully compliant with ETSI specifications. Laird Technologies' engineers and product management stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and guidelines and meeting all necessary criteria is essential for a Laird Technologies' product.
All three of the new base station antenna versions offer 4.9 to 5.9GHz full-band coverage and all three offer the null fill below the horizon insuring uniform energy distribution to each user within each cell.

These new base station antennas offer a patented beam shaper and well-controlled side lobes that reduce interference, and provide coverage in high-density areas. Additional features include high-strength UV-stable radome and rugged carrier-class construction, making the units ideal for large carrier-class deployments.

The 5.0GHz Vertically Polarized Base Station Antennas are ideal for any carrier or broadband wireless access (BWA) supplier deploying WiMax and are used in the WiMax, Broadband Wireless Access, and WISP markets.

"Laird Technologies' is knowledgeable of the new WiMax standard that components need to meet," said Monty Rohde. "Our products consistently meet all necessary standards and still offer the industry best price performance ratio."
