NSK Launches New Series of High Speed, Low Noise Ball Screws

Miniature large lead ball screws designed to increase speed, reduce equipment size and motor load

Franklin, Indiana,- NSK's Miniature Large-Lead Series is designed with a small shaft diameter (ø 6mm, ø 8mm) to reduce the load on motors and the largest lead of its class (8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 15mm). The series achieves rotational speeds up to 5,000 rpm, enabling smooth operation and equipment requiring a relatively short stroke to operate at speeds exceeding 1 m/sec. Additionally, the series can replace linear motors and small air cylinders due to its high speed, high-precision multipoint positioning.

The Miniature Large-Lead Series also features a low profile nut that is the smallest on the market. The nut reduces the height of flanges and nuts by up to 33% compared with conventional ball screws, contributing to the realization of more compact equipment.

The Miniature Large-Lead Series of high speed, low noise ball screws is ideal for semiconductor chip mounters and parts aligning equipment by offering precise positioning and shorter cycle times.

Maintenance-free operation is made possible with NSK's patented K1(TM) Lubrication Units. The optional unit allows for long term, maintenance-free operation, and is ideal for environments where grease is either difficult to replenish or easily washed away.
