November 9, 2005 - TAWERS(TM) Robots are powered by Embedded Arc Control technology, which merges robot, welder, and wire feeder controls into one unit, housed entirely within robot controller. SP-MAG short-circuit welding process provides virtually zero arc spatter, minimizing post-weld cleanup. Automated wire extension control maintains constant wire stick-out during welding, resulting in consistent penetration and weld quality regardless of taught path variations.

New. Pioneering Robotic Arc Welding Technology from Panasonic.

Embedded Arc Control ("EAC(TM)") merges control of robot, arc welder and wire feeder into a single unit
Controlled by a 64bit RISC CPU.

Buffalo Grove, IL. Panasonic Factory Solutions Company announced that its new TAWERS(TM) family of robots is powered by innovative Embedded Arc Control ("EAC(TM)") technology. EAC technology merges the robot, welder and wire feeder controls into one unit, housed entirely within the robot controller. This technology revolution enables the TAWERS robotic welding solution to process information 140-250X faster than current conventional systems. This increase in information handling speed results in extremely powerful welding process advancements, which dramatically increase productivity, welding quality and flexibility, including the following:

New short-circuit welding process - SP-MAG, providing virtually zero arc spatter significantly reducing post-weld cleanup costs,
Lift-start and -end robot motion, minimizing arc ignition spatter and reducing welding cycle times,
Automated wire extension control, maintaining a constant wire stick-out during welding resulting in consistent penetration and weld quality regardless of taught path variations, and
Data monitoring in two levels, increasing ability to quality manage the welding process. The change to high sampling rate data monitoring allows data logging of the welding process and a high resolution oscilloscope function on board.
