e2v Introduces Industry's First Reconfigurable Four-Channel 10-Bit 1.25 GSPS Analogue-to-Digital Converter

Building on the success of the Quad 8-bit 1.25 Gsps analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), e2v now announces the launch of its 10-bit version of this popular ADC architecture: a Quad 10-bit 1.25 Gsps. The EV10AQ190 ADC is a monolithic chip featuring four separate digitally programmable 10-bit 1.25 Gsps ADC channels, that when interleaved via an industry standard SPI (serial peripheral interface) and on-chip cross-point switch, operates either as a 4 channel 10-bit 1.25 Gsps ADC; as a dual 10-bit 2.5 Gsps ADC; or as a single channel 5 Gsps ADC.

e2v will be running live demonstrations of this new Quad 10-bit 1.25 Gsps ADC at Electronica 2008 - Munich November 11-14, 2008 - Hall A5 Stand 168.

The EV10AQ190 provides analogue and system designers with unbeatable flexibility in receiver design. It offers a fully programmable 4-ADC architecture, easy upgrades from existing Quad 8-bit 1.25 Gsps designs and industry leading Gigahertz performance for applications such as test and measurement equipment, direct RF down-conversion, defence, satellite modems, wireless telecom and 16 Gbps point-to-point microwave links, as well as high-speed energy physics applications.

Designers of these next generation systems will enjoy the same high level of integration, flexibility and same 380 pin EBGA (Enhanced-BGA) package as the EV8AQ160 but with 10-bit resolution, 68 dBc SFDR, BER of 10-e16, channel-to-channel isolation >60 dB, extended 3 GHz analogue input bandwidth and low 1.4W/channel power consumption.

"This new ADC continues e2v's commitment to providing market leading ADC performance and design flexibility for system engineers, seeking to lower costs and future-proof their designs" said Nicolas Chantier, Product Marketing Manager for e2v's Broadband Data Conversion product line. "This ADC reaffirms e2v's commitment to enabling designers to maximize system performance, whilst lowering system design complexity and cost".

The EV10AQ190 is the second in the family of Quad Giga-sample ADCs; delivered in an EBGA380 RoHS package. Samples and evaluation boards are available now.
