Siemens Presents New Arpex All-steel High-performance Couplings

• Increased torque capacity with lower weight
• Designed for optimized center of gravity due to improved component geometry
• High axial deflection

At Hannover Messe 2013 Siemens will be presenting the new Arpex all-steel high-performance couplings with improved ratings. Compared to the previous version, these couplings are characterized by an increased axial offset and a larger bore capacity in the coupling hubs. They also have a lower weight, yet a higher torque capacity. This has been achieved by an optimized component geometry, for instance the improved center of gravity of the half coupling. Arpex high-performance couplings are particularly suitable for high-speed applications in the power generation, oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical industries, and are especially used in gas and steam turbines, generators, compressors and pumps.

The couplings have been designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with 94/9/EC and meet the requirements of API 671 / ISO 10441. The Arpex high-performance couplings can withstand temperatures between -40 °C and +280 °C in operation. Depending on customer requirements, they can also be adapted to other temperature ranges.
