November 28, 2008 - Compatible with CATV, ISP, and telecommunications fiber networks, GAO3620 can display length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault point and loss distribution curves of fiber, as well as loss between 2 points, splice loss, and return loss. It can measure 50 km fiber in 30 sec, automatically search fault points and create lists, and supports 2 markers as well as zooming in and out of curve details. Other features include FC/PC style optical connector and 5 in. LCD display.

GAO Tek Releases New Optical Device: Handheld OTDR (GAO 3620)


Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. announces the release of optical device, handheld optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR). It is widely used in loss characteristics analysis and fault point searching in fiber optic manufacture, installation and maintenance.

This portable OTDR can display the length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault point and loss distribution curves of the fiber, as well as, loss between two points, splice loss, and return loss. The easy-to-use and multi-functional device is designed to be durable even for outdoor operations. Further, GAO's handheld OTDR is compatible with CATV, ISP and Telecommunications Fiber Networks.

Handheld OTDR (GAO3620) provides the following features:
1. Portable design, convenient for outdoor testing
2. Simple operation menu and user friendly
3. Supports two markers combined
4. Supports zooming in and out for curve details
5. Automatically searches fault points and creates a list
