AqWise Launches the Next Generation Remote N' Control(TM) Solution for Total Nitrogen Removal and Introduces Its AGARŪ Process at IFAT 2008

AqWise's new DenitriFiltration unit offers extensive nitrogen removal combined with solids separation

MUNICH, Germany, May 5 /- AqWise, Hall A3, Booth 300, will be launching its new Remote N' Control solution for small-to-medium sized wastewater treatment plants and highlighting its innovative AGAR(R) (Attached Growth Airlift Reactor) fixed biofilm moving bed process.

The new AqWise Remote N' Control process has been developed to provide high cBOD and total nitrogen removal capability. The new dual action de-nitrification and effluent filtration solution reduces a wastewater treatment plant's footprint and process complexity while still meeting the most stringent nitrogen level requirements. The Remote N' Control also allows automatic and remote operation, with very little need for human intervention for remote and small-to-medium wastewater treatment plants, serving, for example, local communities, hotels and resorts and army installations.

In addition to the Remote N' Control solution, AqWise will also highlight its proprietary AGAR(R) Applications for municipal and industrial wastewater plants. The AGAR(R) technology is a result of more than a decade of intensive multi-disciplinary research and development. Integrating Fixed Film and Suspended Growth technologies, it is considered as the "next-generation" in biological wastewater treatment methods.

By using AqWise's solutions, municipalities can cope with increased regulation, aging infrastructure and growing population. Industrial plants can meet the strict regulatory requirements for discharging wastewater to the environment or to municipal collection systems and solve typical industrial problems such as variable inflow, seasonal peaks, and high organic load.

The AGAR(R) technology combines a unique fully open, fully protected biomass carrier with a highly efficient aeration and mixing design. This results in superior effective surface area for biomass growth and optimal oxygen transfer efficiency.

AqWise's technology has already been successfully implemented worldwide in installations for both BOD and nitrogen removal and is suitable for municipal wastewater treatment plants, as well as for various industrial applications, such as: food and beverage, pulp and paper, oil and gas, bio fuel, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, re-use and aquaculture.
