Yankee Group Expands Footprint in Asia-Pacific Region

Industry Veteran XJ Wang Tapped to Spearhead Regional Growth and Development

BOSTON-- Yankee Group today announced that it is expanding the reach of its connectivity research and consulting services in the Asia-Pacific region. Former Yankee Group analyst XJ Wang has returned to the company to lead the regional expansion in the newly created position of vice president of Yankee Group Asia-Pacific research.

In addition to reorganizing Yankee Group's Asia-Pacific focused analysts under Wang's leadership, the company also is investing in local Asia-Pacific thought leaders, a regional office in China and is forming a number of strategic partnerships with industry associations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Yankee Group's Asia-Pacific analysts now under Wang's leadership include Charles Moon, Nigel Wang and David Yeh. The partnership with the ITU puts Yankee Group's research talents and expertise in front of a large communications-oriented community in Hong Kong at ITU Telecom World, which will be held from December 4 to 6.

"The Asia-Pacific region is the fastest growing market in the adoption of connectivity solutions," said XJ Wang, vice president of Yankee Group Asia-Pacific research. "As the leading voice in connectivity-focused research, Yankee Group is uniquely positioned to provide counsel and research in a region that is on the forefront of the connectivity revolution. I am pleased to rejoin the company to accelerate its growth and development in the Asia-Pacific region."

Prior to rejoining Yankee Group, Wang was a research director at Ovum. Before Ovum, he was a senior analyst at Yankee Group. Wang has more than 16 years experience in the telecom industry, including 8 in the United States and 8 in China. Wang has also been appointed as the overseas senior advisor by the China Mobile Communication Association (CMCA).

"XJ's return to Yankee Group demonstrates the company's commitment to being recognized as the global connectivity experts," said Emily Nagle Green, Yankee Group president and CEO. "Yankee Group's increased investments in the Asia-Pacific region illustrate the amount of growth opportunities that exist in the region-making this is a strategic opportunity for Yankee Group and XJ as we expand our capabilities in Asia-Pacific. XJ's high level of expertise in the communications sector coupled with his respected leadership in Asia-Pacific will strengthen Yankee Group's presence and growth around the world."
