WXYZ Detroit Adds JVC GY-HM790 Cameras to Main Studio

WAYNE, NJ - JVC Professional Products Company today announced that WXYZ, the ABC affiliate in Detroit (DMA #11), has purchased two JVC GY-HM790 ProHD cameras for its main studio. The flagship station of the Scripps TV Station Group, WXYZ began using the cameras alongside its Thomson HD cameras last month.

With a redesigned studio adapter sled and innovative modular design, the GY-HM790 is an ideal solution for multicore or fiber-based studios. With its three 1/3-inch CCDs, it produces 1280x720 or 1920x1080 images and can record in 720p, 1080i, and even SD (480i) for operations that have not yet made the move to HD. For ENG use, the compact, shoulder-mount camera features a dual card slot design that records to low-cost, non-proprietary SDHC solid-state media cards in ready-to-edit file formats for Apple Final Cut Pro (.MOV) and other major NLE systems (.MP4).
