Vectron International's SenGenuity to Showcase Breakthrough Sensor Design Characteristics and Features at IEEE SENSORS 2007

Peer Reviewed Technical Papers Accepted for Publication at Leading Industry Conference

HUDSON, NH - October 29, 2007 - SenGenuity, the sensors and advanced packaging division of Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced that two technical papers written by its engineering team were accepted for publication as part of the proceedings at the 6th Annual IEEE Conference on Sensors. The papers, titled "Design, Packaging and Characterization of a Two-Port Bulk Wave Langasite Viscometer" and "Design, Optimization and Characterization of an Acoustic Plate Mode Viscometer," highlight breakthrough SenGenuity ViSmart(TM) viscosity sensor design characteristics and features. The IEEE Sensors 2007 Conference will be held from October 28 - 31 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA.

SenGenuity's ViSmart viscosity sensor is designed to provide instantaneous sample and/or continuous, real-time, in-process viscosity measurements for embedded real-time, in-line environments requiring high resolution and accuracy in low- to mid-range viscosity fluids. The technical papers detail the design and operation of the sensor and support circuitry required to implement a process control viscosity sensor and provide data and information supporting the ability to create reproducible devices with protective coatings that enable operation of the sensors over a wide range of harsh environmental conditions. The papers are available at www.ieee.org.

"Because SenGenuity is dedicated to providing innovative and ingenious solutions to meet customers' real world needs, we are pleased that the technical features of our ViSmart viscosity sensors have been recognized and accepted for publication by one of the industry's foremost authorities, the IEEE," said Tom Cunneen, vice president and general manager, SenGenuity. "This clearly demonstrates our ability to conduct a high level of research and development specifically focused on addressing customer and market requirements, and solidifies our position as one of the leading acoustic wave design experts for sensing applications."

IEEE SENSORS 2007 is the leading international conference for the presentation, discussion, and exchange of information regarding research and development in sensors and its related fields. IEEE SENSORS brings together researchers, developers and practitioners from diverse fields to provide insight and facilitate the exchange of information related to the latest developments in the sensors community.

The ViSmart viscosity sensor uses robust and reliable semiconductor technology, has no moving parts, and is sealed for complete immersion. It is unaffected by vibration or flow conditions, does not need field calibration and is packaged in a very portable, lightweight threaded bolt design. The ViSmart sensor measures a wide range of viscosity of fluid and is rated for temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius for quick installation, with custom options and configurations available for specific industry applications and process requirements.

The ViSmart model series can be connected to any computer or control platform via the standard protocols and the forthcoming CANBUS and 4-20 mA options to provide a continuous audit trail for process monitoring markets to control operating costs and maintain quality standards. Additionally, leveraging SenGenuity's Starter Kit bench-top viscometer data station, the customer can acquire multiple channels of continuous viscosity and temperature data.
