Syrgis Picks Industry Veteran Dr. Kevin Guigley to Lead Peroxide Initiators R&D

INFORMEX - SAN FRANCISCO - (Feb. 16, 2010) - Syrgis Inc., an international diversified group of fine and specialty chemical manufacturers, today announced that Kevin Guigley, Ph.D. will assume the role of Manager, Technical Support and R&D for Syrgis Performance Initiators' global business.
"Kevin is an effective leader and innovative problem solver who brings proven technical expertise in new product conception, design, and development to our Initiators business," said Andy Harris, Syrgis CEO. "Under our newly implemented Syrgis Innovation process, Kevin will leverage his chemical, engineering, and Six Sigma expertise to help us drive process improvements and new product development across all of the Syrgis companies."
Dr. Guigley has worked for Louisiana Pacific and Owens Corning where he did extensive R&D work supporting various composite applications. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and has a strong history of driving successful projects to commercialization. Guigley has five patents and four patent applications as well as numerous technical publications. He earned a bachelor's degree in polymer science and holds a doctorate in material science and engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He also has a master's in chemistry from the University of Illinois.
