SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association Announces Growing Slate of Media and Marketing Partners for Re|focus Recycling Summit & Expo

WASHINGTON – SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association announced a new slate of partners Wednesday for its upcoming Re|focus Recycling Summit & Expo, which will take place April 25-27, 2016 in Orlando, Fla.

In addition to striking a recent partnership with GIE Media, publishers of Recycling Today and other industry-leading publications, SPI has also secured similar publication partnerships for Re|focus with Plastics News, Plastics Technology, El Empaque + Conversión magazine and Tecnología del Plástico magazine. Re|focus has also added the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), the Plastic Pipe Institute, ANIPAC (Asociación Nacional de Industrias del Plástico), the Vinyl Institute, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) as organizational marketing partners.

“The breadth of important industry publications and leading organizations signing on to support and endorse Re|focus shows just how thoroughly SPI is committed to the belief that the best way to move the needle on plastics recycling is by bringing the entire global plastics industry together,” said William R. Carteaux, SPI president and CEO. “The issues facing our industry and our environment don’t exist in a vacuum, and they won’t be solved by one organization. Only through comprehensive collaboration throughout the plastics supply chain will our industry be able to change the face of plastics in a way that reduces waste, demonstrates the value of recycled content, improves recyclability and brings us closer to the goal of zero waste.”

“SPI is proud to produce an event like Re|focus with all of its media and marketing partners, and we look forward to hosting an event that will truly bring the entire plastics supply chain together to generate sustainable solutions,” he added.

“For attendees of Re|focus, more partners means stronger and more diverse educational content, as well as more opportunities for sustainability-minded professionals to network with the industry’s best and brightest from every corner of the plastics recycling value chain,” said Kim Holmes, SPI Senior Director, Recycling and Diversion. “Re|focus has always been designed to provide answers to the questions companies face when considering the environment in every aspect of their supply chain. The amount of partners we’ve accumulated so far speaks to how in-demand this type of programming and educational opportunity is among plastics industry leaders, and we look forward to gaining more and more partnerships between now and when Re|focus opens in April.”
