SKF Railway Business Unit North America receives top '2010 Supplier of the Year' Award from GE Transportation

ERIE, PA, USA, March 2, 2011 - SKF Railway Business Unit North America has received the top "2010 Supplier of the Year" Award from GE Transportation. The award was presented during a two-day Supplier Conference held at GE Transportation's global headquarters here. SKF was selected from a field of more than 1,000 suppliers.

According to Michael D. Loose, Managing Director of SKF Railway Business Unit North America, the award particularly focused on SKF bearings supplied to GE Transportation, which has been an SKF customer for almost 20 years.

SKF was ultimately selected as top supplier following a rigorous internal evaluation process at GE Transportation. All suppliers were ranked in a wide range of categories, such as quality, responsiveness, on-time delivery, and product design and performance, among others.

In announcing the award, Loose additionally credited the enabling contributions from the entire SKF organization, including strategically located global railway support teams in Austria, Germany, and India.

GE Transportation is the world's leading manufacturer of diesel-electric locomotives with more than 15,000 locomotives operating around the world.
