Severn Trent De Nora's OMNIPURE Series 55 System Featured in New Video Now Available on Company's Web Site

Capabilities video highlights benefits of unique OMNIPURE marine sanitation system, which recently received Bureau Veritas process attestation certification for IMO Resolution MEPC.159(55).

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. - May 14, 2009 - Severn Trent De Nora has produced a capabilities video on the new OMNIPURE(TM) Series 55 marine sanitation system, the only marine sewage treatment system that oxidizes sewage in an electrochemical cell as well as generates sodium hypochlorite for the disinfection of the sewage streams. The video is available for viewing on the Severn Trent De Nora Web site at www.severntrentservices.com/denora/omnipure-series-55/index.aspx.

Introduced in March 2009, the new OMNIPURE(TM) Series 55 system received Bureau Veritas process attestation certification for IMO Resolution MEPC.159(55) in April. The MEPC.159(55) effluent standards, adopted by the International Maritime Organization's Marine Environment Protection Committee, apply to all sewage treatment systems installed on board on or after January 1, 2010.

The OMNIPURE Series 55 systems provide effective electrolytic treatment of both black and gray water through a patented and certified treatment process. Like other OMNIPURE products, the Series 55 systems produce a sodium hypochlorite disinfection solution from seawater in the presence of sewage to effectively treat all sewage. Electrolytic treatment of marine sewage eliminates chemical storage issues, dosing equipment and costs associated with the use of hazardous chemicals since the disinfection solution is produced on site while the unit is in operation.

The OMNIPURE Series 55 systems require minimal operator supervision and maintenance compared to other treatment technologies. These traits, combined with their small footprint and the light weight, make the systems the preferred long term solution for wastewater treatment for a variety of installations, including deeper-water, weight-sensitive applications.

The OMNIPURE Series 55 systems range in capacity up to 65 m3/day (17,000 gal/day) as individual units that can also be combined for increased capacity.
