Santorum to Participate in Presidential Candidates Forum on Manufacturing

Washington, D.C., – As presidential candidates continue to focus their attention on the importance of manufacturing to the economy, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is pleased to announce that former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) will join the NAM 2016 Presidential Candidates Forum on Manufacturing. Moderated by “The PBS NewsHour’s” Judy Woodruff, the forum will provide candidates the opportunity to discuss their positions on issues critical to manufacturing in the United States.

“As activity continues to build around a vibrant presidential race, manufacturers are eager to hear from candidates about where they stand on manufacturing priorities,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “We look forward to hearing from all candidates on their views on how to keep manufacturing in the United States the best and most competitive in the world.”

“I made revitalizing American manufacturing the heart of my 2012 and now my 2016 presidential campaign,” said Sen. Santorum. “And I declared my candidacy from a factory floor in western Pennsylvania because I believe we need to fight for hardworking American families and for jobs that bring life to communities like Pella, Iowa. I am excited to take part in the NAM’s forum and discuss my plans to make America the number-one manufacturing nation in the world.”

The forum will take place before manufacturers and workers at Vermeer Corporation’s headquarters in Pella, Iowa. Vermeer Corporation is a family-owned and -operated manufacturing company that produces construction, agricultural and environmental equipment.
