On March 19 of 2012, Board of Standards Review of ANSI has approved ANSI/AMCA 500-L-2012, Laboratory Methods of Testing Louvers for Performance Rating. This ANSI/AMCA Standard, which establishes uniform laboratory test methods for louvers, determines such characteristics as air leakage, pressure drop, water penetration, wind driven rain, and operational torque. Tests conducted in accordance with requirements of this standard are intended to demonstrate performance of louver.

Arlington Heights, IL, USA---The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA International) announced that the Board of Standards Review of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved the following document on March 19, 2012: ANSI/AMCA 500-L-2012, Laboratory Methods of Testing Louvers for Performance Rating.

This ANSI/AMCA Standard establishes uniform laboratory test methods for louvers. Characteristics determined by this standard include air leakage, pressure drop, water penetration, wind driven rain, and operational torque. Tests that are conducted in accordance with the requirements of this standard are intended to demonstrate the performance of a louver and are not intended to determine acceptability level of performance.
