Overview

The Annual Power Switching Safety and Reliability Conference is an opportunity for managers, supervisors, and operations personnel to exchange information about switching policies and procedures that contribute to improved safety and reliability. The conference addresses a variety of issues including detailed switching procedures and associated software, programs for training, audits and incident investigation as well as management strategies and policies.

On Sunday, August 26, from 9 am to 12 am, there will be a tour of the Seattle City Light's Control Center. There is no fee for the tour, but attendance is limited to the first 20 registrants, so register early.

Also on Sunday, August 26, from 2 pm to 6:30 pm, there will be a seminar given by Melanie Payne, System Operations Success International, "Raising the Bar on Switching Safety and Reliability for Field Switching Personnel and System Operators." The seminar will include a test and participants will be eligible for four NERC Continuing Education (CE) credits. There is a separate fee of $100 for this seminar and class size is limited to 50 people.
