Ohio Gratings, Inc. Provides Grating for the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) New Green Roof Project
October 3, 2006 -- The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) worked in conjunction with Ohio Gratings, Inc. (OGI) to provide the grating for the walking surface of their new Green Roof Project in downtown Washington, D.C. Ohio Gratings material, Aluminum I-Bar grating with slip-resistance (Slipnot®) surface, will allow the ASLA' s building rooftop to grow plants beneath the grating, maximizing the planting area while still allowing visitors to walk on the slip-resistant surface.
This grating application demonstrates the environmental and aesthetic value of green roofs while encouraging more widespread use of them nationally and showcases the value that landscape architects bring to this type of project.
