NREL Growth Forum to Feature 30 Clean Energy Startups



Companies will present business cases to finance experts, vie for venture awards



Thirty clean energy companies will gather in Denver Nov. 3-4 to present their clean energy business cases to a panel of investors and industry experts at the Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) annual Industry Growth Forum.



In addition to the business case presentations, NREL's two-day forum will offer organized networking opportunities and will present a program that highlights clean energy technology and business developments with a comprehensive agenda featuring thought leaders who will address the most important topics in the industry today. 



At the conclusion of the forum, NREL will recognize the winners of the Best Venture Award and Outstanding Venture Awards. Award winners will receive in-kind commercialization support to help increase their chances of becoming commercially successful.

Opening Luncheon and Keynote Address

Keynote Address from NREL Director Dr. Dan Arvizu.



Dr. Arvizu, NREL's longest-serving director, will reflect on the transformation of clean and renewable energy technologies, and provide a vision for the future of the clean energy industry.

Panel Discussion - Successfully Navigating National Lab Resources



Hear from entrepreneurs who have successfully collaborated with the Energy Department's national laboratories and utilized resources to enhance the development and commercialization of clean energy technologies.



Moderated by Kristin Gray (Technology Transfer Director, NREL), panelists will include John Kaufman (Executive Vice President, Be Power Tech, Inc.), Jared Schwede (co-founder, Spark Thermionics), Greg Thomas (CEO, Performance Systems Development) and Bill Hoagland (President, Element One, Inc.).
