New Fluke Newsletter Helps Electricians, Engineers and Maintenance Techs Boost Reliability and Make Work Easier

Fluke Plant News now available online and by mail

EVERETT, Wash. - The latest industry newsletter from Fluke Corporation is filled with articles written to help electricians, engineers and plant maintenance technicians solve more problems and keep their industrial facilities running smoothly.

The new issue of Fluke Plant News, now available on the Fluke web site and by subscription, shows how an electric motor expert at Alpenrose Dairy in Portland, Ore., uses the Fluke 810 Vibration Tester to diagnose problems in motors, pumps and compressors before they can halt production. Also in this issue: a Tech Tip comparing digital multimeters with power quality analyzers; an article discussing how to understand and manage the power consumption operating cost of industrial machinery; guidance on how power quality problems affect plant operations (and how to make those problems go away); and tips on using a clamp meter to test electrical circuits and equipment.

The new edition features online-only extras related to the newsletter stories. These extras include a video showing the electric motor testing at Alpenrose Dairy, a rundown of the most common causes of machine vibration, an outline of when machine vibration is a problem, and an explanation of how the Fluke 810 Vibration Tester makes it easier to tell the difference between acceptable vibration and the kind of vibration that demands immediate attention to service or replace troubled equipment.

Fluke newsletters are designed to give industry professionals information they can use on the job, and show how to put Fluke instruments to work. Newsletters are written for plant engineering and maintenance professionals; electricians and electrical contractors; and HVAC and indoor air quality contractors and weatherization professionals. A newsletter for electronics engineers, Fluke Electronics News, is published only in online form.

All Fluke newsletters are available for free on the Fluke News Plus home page. To subscribe to the print edition and receive a print copy, click on "subscribe to the next print editions" at the bottom of the page.
