New Firmware Update for dataTaker Data Loggers

Version 9.14 adds Security Login and Multi-Language Support

CHESTERLAND OH — CAS DataLoggers is offering a new firmware update for Series 2 and 3 dataTaker data loggers including the versatile DT80 and DT85 intelligent data loggers. Version 9.14 has just been released for dataTaker DT80/DT81/DT82E/DT85 data loggers and adds several new features including a security login and multi-language support. The latest firmware version along with a download for USB Flash drives and the release notes are now available on our Download page at http://www.dataloggerinc.com/downloads/datataker.php.

This latest version features several new fixes and performance improvements suggested by users from around the world. Now users can setup persistent variables, for example a counter tracking total mileage. If users reset the dataTaker, its values return to zero and the data logger keeps the value so it can be used as a benchmark.

Additionally, dataTaker data loggers now have a new function enabling users to keep a running average. Using this feature, users can input a new data point and remove an old one to get a statistical running average of their data. This is useful for several applications including pollution and industrial emissions monitoring and regulatory requirements, for example to obtain a running average of toxic concentrations.

Users can install this new upgrade using a USB memory device or using dataTaker's free DeTransfer software via a serial connection or over FTP. During the firmware upgrade process, the upgrade package (.dxf file) will automatically install files onto the logger's internal flash disk.

The new Series 3 dataTaker data loggers feature universal input channels for use with a wide range of sensor types so users can record Temperature, Voltage/Current, 4-20mA Loops, Resistance, Bridges, Strain Gauges, Frequency, Digital, Serial and more—all on the same device using the same software. These automated solutions can send alarms over text or email whenever values go outside safe limits, and can also transfer their data to an office PC via FTP over the Internet or mobile phone network. There's no need to buy polling or specific host software.

Using dataTaker's free dEX software it's easy to configure the data logger, view data in real-time mimics, and schedule automatic downloads. Users can also analyze historical data and generate custom graphs, tables and charts. The software runs directly from a web browser and can be accessed anywhere that a TCP/IP connection is available, including worldwide over the Internet. To see for yourself how easy it is, check out this brief video Introduction to dEX.
