New App Note Details How Piezo Motors Can Be Used to Create a Tiny Optical Zoom Module With Only 6 mm Thickness
Victor, NY - Sept. 24, 2009 - New Scale Technologies (www.newscaletech.com) has released a new application note describing their reference design for a tiny optical zoom module using its SQUIGGLE micro motors and TRACKER position sensors. The design offers 4 mm of travel and 0.5 µm closed-loop position resolution in a module only 6.5 mm thick. The length and width (13 x 23 mm for the reference design) would be determined by the optics, shutter and desired stroke.
New Scale's micro motion designs allow OEMs to embed smaller, higher-performance optics into cameras and imaging systems for consumer, security, industrial, military and medical applications.
