Respected and Influential Voice Helps Manufacturers Compete to Win

Washington, D.C. – National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse was named CEO Update’s Association Lobbyist of the Year. Chosen by a panel of association experts, Newhouse was honored by peers for his work representing manufacturers before Congress and the administration and by successfully advocating and securing passage of Export-Import (Ex-Im) Bank reauthorization, Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), a long-term highway bill, various regulatory reform efforts, a repeal of the ban on crude oil exports and a permanent research and development (R&D) tax credit.

“Manufacturers are so proud of Aric, and I am, too. His leadership is very much appreciated by the more than 12 million men and women who work in manufacturing,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Aric is a trusted, well-respected voice in Washington. He has a brilliant mind for policy and has effectively positioned the NAM to drive the debate on our priorities on Capitol Hill. The work of Aric and his team has established the NAM as a credible manufacturing advocacy giant.

“On behalf of our more than 14,000 member companies, Aric and his team make the case every day for the policies that manufacturers need to compete and win in the global economy. In 2015, manufacturers won many important legislative victories—from Ex-Im reauthorization and TPA to a permanent R&D tax credit and a long-term infrastructure bill and more. Those victories, in the middle of a divisive political atmosphere, are testament to Aric’s leadership and manufacturers’ ability to bring people together.”
