NAM Announces Staff Changes to Enhance Advocacy and Growth
Industry Experts Strengthen NAM Team
Washington, D.C. – The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has strengthened its growing team of experts and professionals dedicated to advancing manufacturing policy priorities, enhancing our advocacy and amplifying the voice of manufacturers.
Robyn Boerstling has been promoted to vice president of the newly created infrastructure, innovation and human resources policy team. Before joining the NAM in 2008, Boerstling served on the staff of the assistant secretary for transportation policy with the U.S. Department of Transportation. Boerstling also served as the director of congressional and public affairs with the U.S. Maritime Administration.
“Robyn has a proven track record, and the NAM is sure to advance many important policy priorities with her increased leadership,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Robyn’s expertise and tireless work were instrumental in securing victories for manufacturers in 2015, ranging from the resolution of the West Coast ports slowdown to extension of the Positive Train Control deadline. In this new capacity, she will continue to promote and advance manufacturing in the United States on behalf of the more than 12 million manufacturers represented by the NAM.”
The NAM’s membership and strategic development divisions will also undergo several changes, which will allow for greater collaboration to grow the manufacturing army and better serve our members of all sizes. Adria Brockman has been named vice president of member and board relations, leading a new integrated membership team. Paul Hartgen will serve as vice president of member and business services, and Jeannine Pierce will serve as vice president of board initiatives.
“Following a successful year in 2015, these changes will allow the NAM to continue building the manufacturing army, create new programs for our members and move on key policies in Washington, D.C., in 2016 and beyond,” said Timmons.
The NAM’s policy and government relations team has seen many additions over the past few months. Ryan Ong has joined the international economic affairs team as director of international business policy. Ong comes to the NAM after more than eight years at the US–China Business Council. Rachel Jones has joined the energy and resources policy department as director of energy and resources policy. Jones comes to the NAM after many successful years as a congressional staffer, most recently with the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. Kim Jaworski has joined the government relations team as director of government relations. Jaworski comes to the NAM from a successful tenure with the House Democratic Caucus where she held multiple roles, including most recently as a senior advisor.
Both the legal team and communications team also have had new additions. Leland Frost has joined the Manufacturers’ Center for Legal Action as associate general counsel. Frost comes to the NAM after working with a number of firms and recently completing his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Liz Shrum has joined the communications team as our new director of digital communications and web operations. Previously, Shrum worked for Northrop Grumman and was charged with the company’s digital strategy. Mark Isaacson has joined the communications team as director of executive communications after serving for more than four years as a speechwriter and editorial director with the Republican National Committee.
