Myers Industries® Names Joel Grant to Managing Director, North American Material Handling Segment

May 2008, Akron, Ohio- Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MYE)
announces that Joel Grant was named Managing Director of the Company's North American
Material Handling Segment earlier this year. He replaces Don Thomas, who was named
Managing Director of the Company's Lawn and Garden Segment. Since 2005, Mr. Grant
served as assistant general manager for the material handling segment's companies/brands,Buckhorn® and Akro-Mils®.
Mr. Grant joined Buckhorn in 1998 as Director of Sales and was later named Director of Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, he advanced through various sales and management positions with Sonoco Products Company®, a global supplier of industrial and consumer packaging. Mr.Grant brings more than 30 years of industrial packaging, material handling and supply chain experience to his new role as managing director. Mr. Grant holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of Cincinnati.
Headquartered in Milford, Ohio, the North American Material Handling Segment is comprised of Buckhorn, Akro-Mils and related companies/brands. Buckhorn is one of North America's leading providers of reusable plastic packaging systems including bulk and hand-held containers, pallets and services ranging from interior dunnage design and custom product development.
