Mocon, PTI Enter into Manufacturing, Marketing Agreement for Oxytraq® Oxygen Permeation System

Minneapolis, MN (November 5, 2008) - MOCON, Inc. enters into an agreement with Plastics Technologies, Inc. (PTI), Holland, OH, for the manufacturing and global marketing of the OxyTraQ® oxygen permeation system.
"PTI has developed an innovative oxygen permeation testing instrument that is a perfect line extension to MOCON's existing equipment. We are pleased to announce our new partnership which will allow us to manufacture this unique instrument and bring it to the global marketplace," says Robert Demorest, president and chief executive officer, MOCON.
PTI's OxyTraQ® device is a fast, easy-to-use multi-station unit which delivers fast, reproducible results. It targets manufacturers and fillers of beverage bottles and can handle a wide range of containers from small barrier bottles to half-gallon jugs. The OxyTraQ® unit is ideally-suited for testing/retesting oxygen scavenger bottles, as well as film samples.

The OxyTraQ® unique Purge Rack System features patent-pending Container Transfer Units (CTUs) which eliminates the need for bottles to sit on the testing device for weeks at a time in order to reach equilibrium. This is done by mounting a bottle on the CTU and then placing it on the Purge Rack where it is flushed with the same gas mixture used in the OxyTraQ® system. Once the bottle reaches equilibrium, it can then be quickly and easily transferred to the OxyTraQ® device where final permeation values can be generated in less than one day.
