Metallurgist Bill Hong Joins Stork Herron Team in Charlotte


CHARLOTTE, NC - December 27, 2007

Accomplished metallurgist Bill Hong will be leaving the Stork Materials Testing & Inspection laboratory in Huntington Beach, California to head up the Microscopic Evaluation Laboratory of Stork Herron in Charlotte, North Carolina, as Metallurgical Department Manager and Chief Metallurgist. Hong is a native of China, a graduate of Tianjin University, and holds an M.S. in Materials Engineering from Wayne State University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina. The former Lead Failure Analyst for General Motors in Warren, Michigan, Hong is extensively trained and experienced in automotive metallurgy and failure analysis, as well as a broad range of metallurgical analysis techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), metallographic sample preparation and optical microscopy.
