Marathon Mounted Bearing Units

'SEALED FOR CERTAIN':

OFFER DUAL-SEALING PROTECTION AGAINST CONTAMINANTS

Marathon® mounted bearing units integrate a patented stainless steel dual-sealing system designed to protect against contaminants, resist corrosion, and extend service life. These bearing units are among the growing family of MRC® solutions engineered to withstand typically harsh conditions in the food processing and beverage industries.

The unique sealing arrangement consists of a double-lip insert seal (rubber bonded to AISI 304 stainless steel), an AISI 304 stainless steel flinger, and a rubber-backed steel gasket. The insert seal and flinger combine to create a double barrier against pollutants and washdowns, and the gasket, flinger, and USDA Food Grade grease between insert seal and flinger deliver added sealing efficiencies. Stainless steel contributes superior corrosion resistance.

The Marathon series includes heavy-duty, extreme-duty, and composite versions incorporating high-quality, corrosion-resistant insert bearings (coated or stainless).

Available in a range of sizes, standard housing styles include pillow block, two- or four-bolt flange, or tapped base. Three-bolt bracket flange plus wide and narrow slot take up units are available.

The bearing units are lubricated for their operating life; offer high load-carrying capacity to help prevent premature bearing wear; and serve virtually maintenance-free.
Made-to-Order (MTO) warranted products can be developed through a dedicated MTO program. CAD drawings of standard products are available for downloading free from http://www.skfusa.com/mrc
