Manufacturers and Business Owners Talk Policy with Presidential Candidate Kasich

Tele–Town Hall Series Highlights Key Manufacturing Priorities with Presidential Candidates

Washington, D.C., – Manufacturers from across the United States participated in a tele–town hall today with 2016 presidential candidate Gov. John Kasich (R-OH). On this call, Gov. Kasich addressed and answered questions from manufacturers and business owners on key policy issues, such as labor, tax, trade, infrastructure and environmental regulations.

The tele–town halls offer manufacturers and business owners an opportunity to hear directly from presidential candidates on policies that impact businesses, manufacturers and the economy. This call included an introduction from National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President and CEO Jay Timmons.

“We can all agree the next President has to address key business issues head-on,” said Timmons on today’s call. “We’ve seen increased polarization and partisanship, both in Congress and on the campaign trail. So it’s increasingly up to the business community to bring people together to get this important work done. But that work can’t just happen in Washington. We have to mobilize employers and employees to contact their leaders. Manufacturers must cast their ballots based on the issues that matter to their economic future. We all have to work harder than ever to make sure businesses and manufacturers know what’s at stake in the coming presidential election.”

Gov. Kasich is the fourth presidential candidate to participate in the tele–town hall series hosted by the NAM, the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Associated General Contractors of America, the Business-Industry Political Action Committee, the National Federation of Independent Business and the National Retail Federation.
