Industry, Government Rely on Mobile Calibration

Calibration vans traverse country and a rainforest to reduce downtime,
improve reliability

ORLANDO, Fla. (November 3, 2005) Many telecommunications companies,
electronic manufacturers and government agencies with multiple installations
continue to calibrate their test equipment in-house or ship to off-site
locations. But the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA), Eaton, AT&T and ITT Industries are among
the giants taking advantage of the savings and efficiency offered through a
third-party mobile calibration provider.

"What began decades ago with tow-trucks pulling equipment-packed trailers
and station wagons filled with technicians has evolved into a sophisticated
fleet of mobile calibration vans traversing the country," says Sam Isbell of
Sypris Test & Measurement Calibration. "Sypris is the only national third-party
calibration provider to offer a fleet of state-of-the art mobile calibration labs
with deliverables in all 50 states."

By bringing calibration equipment and personnel to the user, mobile cal
systems dramatically improve asset utilization by reducing equipment
downtime as well as eliminating shipping cost and risk of equipment damage.
Coupled with a web-based calibration asset management system known as
Calweb, which provides the ability to retrieve records globally, mobile
calibration has become the most effective, efficient way of keeping disparate
electronics installations at peak performance.

"We'll go anywhere," says Isbell. "No one else provides the level of
sophistication and global coordination as Sypris Test & Measurement."

Sypris operates mobile calibration services in North America, Europe and Asia,
as well as more remote locations, including a mountainous rain forest in
Puerto Rico. Sypris' work for the FAA alone provides 38,000 calibrations at
over 400 FAA air traffic control and other electronic installations in North
America and off-shore.

Sypris' Sam Isbell was instrumental in the development, deployment and/or
sale of mobile calibration solutions for AT&T, FAA and the National Weather
Service. He is available to discuss the advantages and savings mobile
calibration offers. Organizations with geographically dispersed installations
requiring regularly scheduled calibration benefit greatly from this offer. He is
available for interviews and writing by-lined articles on mobile calibration.
