In June of 2007, Mr. McKinstry was named VP of Technical Affairs. During his time as VP he was the driving force behind the creation of all ANSI/HI pump standards. He has helped to leverage the international profile of HI, chairing ISO TC115/SC 3, since 2000, and by serving in a leadership capacity in the US Technical Advisory Group as well. He regularly attends Europump Annual Meetings and frequently attends meetings of several working groups within TC115 on behalf of HI.

According to Gregg Romanyshyn, Technical Director, Hydraulic Institute, “Dave McKinstry has an international reputation as a statesman for the pump industry and has demonstrated insightful wisdom as well as a unique combination of technical understanding and diplomatic acumen.  He has consistently stepped forward to volunteer countless hours of his time to help shape and move the Institute forward.  He has helped guide the technical teams with their tasks, and has always been available to consult with the HI leadership and attend meetings and conference calls as needed.”
