Grupo Lappi Opts for a Second MPS Flexo Press

The Spanish printer plans to expand its flexible packaging production capacity with an MPS EF flexo press at its plant in Dos Hermanas, Seville.

DIDAM, The Netherlands — MPS today announced the receipt of another EF flexo press order with 10 colour print stations and an APC Advanced automation package to Grupo Lappi, a leading Spanish label and packaging printer. With this second MPS flexo press investment, Grupo Lappi plans to expand its production capacity of flexible packaging and target new markets.

In operation for over 50 years, Grupo Lappi is a leading manufacturer and exporter of labels, stickers and prints with three production sites in Seville, Abrera (Barcelona) and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia (Barcelona); in addition to a subsidiary in the UK leading their export division with sales offices in France, Morocco and the Caribbean.

The new MPS EF flexo press on order will be used primarily for printing shrink sleeves and wraparound labels for the food and beverage markets. As the press will be equipped with various converting units, Grupo Lappi can offer its customers a range of finishing and converting options. Félix Prieto of Grupo Impryma, the local MPS Spanish agent, assisted throughout the purchasing decision to help configure the optimum press and options for Grupo Lappi's planned expansion.

Eric Hoendervangers, MPS Director Key-Account comments: "We are very pleased that Grupo Lappi, one of the largest label manufacturers in Spain, has opted again for the reliable quality and productivity of an MPS press. They have purchased our premium flexo press, with the APC advanced automation package for ultimate print control, including the print gap. This new press will complement Grupo Lappi's existing range of highly efficient and automated production processes, and their plans to further expand and enter new markets."
