George Dettloff Named President and CEO of SKF USA Inc.


George Dettloff has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of SKF USA Inc. (headquartered in Norristown, PA), effective January 1, 2006. He succeeds Sten Malmstrom, who retires from SKF after 32 years of service in various senior management positions.

In addition to his new responsibilities, Dettloff remains President of the SKF Automotive Division-North America, where he has served since January 2004.

Dettloff brings 30 years of operational experience to his new position, where he will coordinate activities for the SKF Group's U.S.-based operations. He will further oversee the departments of Human Resources, Administration, Legal, IT Systems, Finance, and SKF's shared service center.

Dettloff will report directly to Tom Johnstone, President and CEO of parent AB SKF and becomes a member of the SKF Group Management team.

Dettloff joined SKF in June 2000 as President of the company's bearing seals business and previously held senior management positions with leading automotive-related companies. He earned his Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Detroit and is a registered Professional Engineer.

AB SKF (headquartered in Goteborg, Sweden) the parent company of SKF USA Inc., is the world's largest supplier of rolling bearings and seals. The company also manufactures and markets linear motion products, high precision bearings, spindles and spindle services for the machine tool industry, and lubrication systems, and is an established producer of bearing steel.

SKF has 100 production sites worldwide and employs almost 40,000. Company operations have been newly organized globally under Automotive, Industrial, and Service divisions.
