Freescale Releases Databeans Report on Growing Analog Market

Analog outpacing other integrated circuit markets; Freescale's analog strategy well positioned to drive market growth

AUSTIN, Texas - July 30, 2007 - Freescale Semiconductor has collaborated with Databeans, Inc., a market research firm, on a whitepaper that examines the state of the global analog market. The whitepaper also examines Freescale's current position in the analog market and the company's analog strategies, which are expected to drive a significant increase in its served markets for application-specific analog ICs.

According to the Databeans whitepaper, the worldwide analog market is growing at a compound annual rate of 12 percent and outperforming many other IC markets. It is expected to reach $68 billion by 2012. The market is attracting many new competitors, and Databeans anticipates many vendors will struggle for market share gains.

Freescale has recently announced plans for executing a strategy that is expected to drive a significant increase in the company's served markets in application-specific analog and to propel the company into broader multi-market areas and power management. Databeans believes Freescale can strengthen its impact upon market segments now dominated by other analog suppliers.

According to the market research firm, Freescale is the world's seventh largest analog supplier, with offerings that include power management solutions, radio frequency (RF) ICs, integrated transceivers and switches for application-specific markets. Databeans considers Freescale a significant player in the analog market and estimates that the company will increase its served available market (SAM) by 40 percent, from $18 billion to $29 billion (USD), upon executing its planned full-scaled growth initiative.
