CSC Acquires U.S. Federal Services Provider Datatrac


EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 7 - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that it has agreed to acquire Datatrac Information Services, Inc., a privately held U.S. government services and solutions provider headquartered in Richardson, Texas. CSC expects the transaction to be accretive to earnings in the first year. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Datatrac employs more than 1,800 professionals in Richardson and Fort Worth, Texas; Wheeling, W.Va.; Chantilly, Va.; Laguna Nigel, Calif.; Lincoln, Neb.; St. Albans, Vt.; and Barbourville, Corbin and Williamsburg, Ky.

The acquisition extends CSC's ability to offer comprehensive solutions in identity management and credentialing, a market segment of strategic importance to CSC's Federal Sector operation. It also expands the company's capabilities in offering customer contact solutions to clients across the broad U.S. federal market.

Datatrac will function as an operating segment of CSC's Enforcement, Security & Intelligence (ESI) division, which provides systems integration, managed services, full-spectrum security solutions, and mission-specific services and solutions to public sector clients dedicated to preserving and protecting national security. The addition of Datatrac to ESI's team will enhance its ability to facilitate mission success for organizations in the law enforcement, homeland security and intelligence communities. ESI is part of CSC's Federal Sector business unit.
