Continental Airlines Expands Spanish-Language Functions on continental.com

HOUSTON, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) has expanded Spanish-language functions on continental.com to allow customers to book flights and reward travel, as well as manage reservations.

The new Spanish-language functionality complements Continental's existing Spanish-language Web site features developed in 2003, including OnePass frequent-flyer program enrollment and account management, timetable, flight and gate information, customer feedback, and gift certificates. Customers also can access information in Spanish on the Web site about Presidents Clubs, in-flight amenities, airports, and Continental history, policies and procedures.

"Spanish-dominant and bilingual online Hispanics need or want content in their language," said Mark Bergsrud, Vice President, Marketing Programs and Distribution, Continental Airlines. "Continental serves more destinations in Latin America than any other U.S. airline. Offering enhanced Web site access in Spanish facilitates the travel process for more of our customers."

Spanish-speaking customers who normally surf the Web in Spanish will be able to see the continental.com Web site in Spanish without having to click on any link or button, Bergsrud noted. Other customers can access continental.com's Spanish-language content from the Home page using the ESPANOL link located in the top right-hand corner. Customers who would like instructions on how to configure their browsers to Spanish can click the Asistencia en idioma espanol (Spanish-language support) link at the bottom of the continental.com Home page. In addition, customers can access the Spanish content at: www.continental.com/lang/es .

Customers have several payment options when buying tickets at continental.com, including various credit/debit cards and cash (paid at the airport, at a Continental Ticket Office, or at businesses offering Western Union Money Transfer services).

Continental offers a number of other Spanish-language services as part of its Latinization customer-service initiative, including bilingual flight attendants on many flights to Latin America, and bilingual airport personnel, reservations agents and signage. From the U.S., passengers may make reservations in Spanish at 1-800-537-9222.
