Comcast.com Gets Complete Makeover; Adds Interactive, Flash-Based Product Demonstrations

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9 -- After extensive research and thorough planning, Comcast has unveiled its completely redesigned Web site, Comcast.com. The new site was created to better complement the Comcast brand and serve as an interactive, informational and entertaining online destination for customers. For the first time, site visitors can interact with Comcast products and services through Flash-based virtual demonstrations for a true "taste and buy" experience. The redesigned site also features a new interface that cuts out the clutter and directs site visitors to three specific channels: Learn, Customers and Shop.

"We wanted the new site to be convenient and fully interactive to mirror the entertainment experience for which our products are known," said Marvin Davis, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for Comcast. "We're very pleased with customer feedback to date, which has been overwhelmingly positive. Comcast.com was already garnering more than five million unique visitors a month and we anticipate that the new site will attract even more visitors."

As the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, Comcast designed the site to be a forum to showcase its competitive offerings and create dialogue with existing and potential customers.

Three New Channels

Learn

Comcast.com allows customers to explore the benefits of its products -- Comcast Digital Cable with ON DEMAND, HD programming and DVR service; Comcast High-Speed Internet; and Comcast Digital Voice® -- through interactive, rich media demonstrations with full-motion video and sound. The site's advanced demos enable consumers to experience Comcast products before making any purchase decisions. For example, site visitors can see how Comcast's high-speed Internet stacks up against DSL in download speed, view the difference between HD and regular TV, and walk through the copious amount of features that accompany Comcast Digital Voice, all in a matter of minutes.

Customers

One of the primary objectives for the Comcast.com redesign was to improve customer service. Research shows that some of the most-viewed pages on Comcast.com are those related to customer accounts and bill payment. The new site layout provides clear and direct access to "View and Pay Your Bill Online" from the home page, as well as a comprehensive section offering manuals, demos, installation assistance and around-the-clock support services. Eventually the site's powerful rich media experience will also be used to introduce complimentary product enhancements, such as the PowerBoost(TM) speed enhancer, while customers pay their bill or view their account.

Shop

The "Shop" section allows customers to view all the available services and packages, accompanied by related information and prices, and sign up for service with just the click of a button. In the near future, customers will be able to schedule an installation via Comcast.com -- receiving a full-service online shopping experience.

The redesigned site also features a new look and feel for the "About" section, which includes company and community service information such as Careers, Investors, Press Room, In the Community and regulatory/terms of service.
