BryCoat Hires Coatings Expert, Ray Sinatra
Oldsmar, FL, October 5, 2016 - BryCoat Inc., a global leader in advanced metallurgical coatings, announced today the hiring of Raymond "Ray" Sinatra as a Principal Technical Expert. Sinatra will add his vast experience in thermal spray coatings and surface technology to the Brycoat team.
Mr. Sinatra spent the past 21 years as a Senior Specialist for the Rolls-Royce Corp., where he developed multiple patents in surface technology. During his tenure with Rolls-Royce, he developed surface modification techniques through the use of coatings and thermal process treatments to repair and extend the life cycle of turbine engine components. Over the last 10 years, he has concentrated on thermal spray abradable seal coatings and the pursuit of new material formulations for future engine applications that require higher temperature and longer service life.
Sinatra expressed enthusiasm about working for Brycoat, saying: "I am pleased to be working for a smaller size company where activities and actions happen much quicker and more precisely compared to a much larger company. The atmosphere is fun here and relaxed. It's great! I am surprised to see the level of technical ability that [BryCoat has."
Mike Smith, BryCoat President, said of the new hire: "We've known Ray for a long time. His reputation and expertise are outstanding. I'm really excited to have him join our team as we grow our thermal spray business towards the future."
Mr. Sinatra has approximately 47 years of continuous employment in industrial processing and surface technology. In addition to Rolls-Royce, previous employers include United Airlines and major thermal spray equipment and materials manufacturer, Metco Perkin Elmer. He has been an active member of ASM International since 1990 and has helped organize national conferences for the advancement of thermal spray processes and materials. He served as Chairman for the Indianapolis Chapter of ASM International (2001-2002) and helped earn a 5-star chapter rating. He was elected as Board of Director on the ASM Thermal Spray Society in 2003 and re-elected to a second term in 2006.
