14th Annual BIO Investor Forum to Celebrate Fierce 15 Winners amid Rising Investor Interest in Biotechnology



Washington, D.C. – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) has opened registration  for the 14th Annual BIO Investor Forum, the international biotech investor conference focused on investment strategies for early stage and established private companies as well as emerging public companies. The event will take place October 20-21, 2015, at the Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco.



“The BIO Investor Forum is the perfect venue for investors to connect with executives at the top fast-growing life sciences companies,” said Jim Greenwood, President & CEO, BIO. ”The environment for biotech is strong right now – there has never been a better time for emerging companies to seek new funding sources.”



This year’s program will include business and therapeutic panels, company presentations and fireside chats with respected industry veterans discussing the latest trends in biotech. The event will celebrate winners of the Fierce 15 contest at the opening reception, and feature a panel of past winners discussing their experiences with investor management.



The first Fireside Chat will feature Robert T. Nelsen, Co-Founder and Managing Director, ARCH Venture Partners.

Nominations are now open for the Buzz of BIO contest at the 2015 BIO Investor Forum. The Buzz of BIO contest recognizes highly innovative companies in the biotech sector and helps position these companies to develop strategic partnerships within the industry. Ten biotechs will be nominated in each of two categories – Early Stage Entrepreneurs and Late Stage Leaders. Nominations must be received by August 18; winners will then be chosen by online vote beginning August 24.



Company Presentations: The conference features presentations by more than 100 biotech companies poised to join the growth “watch list” in 2016, as well as a number of nonprofit and venture philanthropy organizations. More information about company presentations can be found here.
