Bayer MaterialScience at the American Coatings Show 2008

Bayer MaterialScience showcases the proven power of soft-touch polyurethane coatings, adhesives and sealants built on Bayer technology

Charlotte, N.C., June 2, 2008 -- Visitors to this year's American Coatings Show (ACS) can view the proven power of polyurethane coatings, adhesives and sealants built on Bayer technology at Bayer MaterialScience's (BMS) booth #1545. The ACS, being held June 2-5, 2008, gives visitors the opportunity to experience first hand the depth of BMS' coatings, adhesives and sealants offerings.

The booth will feature case histories of actual applications that have stood the test of time. Technologies to be showcased include 2K polyurea sealants, self-healing coatings, soft-touch coatings for plastics, polyaspartic coatings, wood-bonding adhesives, cold-cure sealants and more.

One attention-grabbing element of the booth will be a truck featuring applications of BMS' broad range of technologies for the coating industry. Technologies to be highlighted on the truck include UV-cure, waterborne, sprayable thick film and clearcoat coatings. In addition, Karen Henderson, senior associate scientist, will perform demonstrations of BMS' self-healing coatings technologies.

"This year, the BMS display really gives attendees an overview of the wide range of coatings, adhesives and sealants products within the BMS arsenal," said
Christine Bryant, Head-Adhesives and Sealants, North America. "The case histories support the success of BMS' products and technologies over time, while the demonstrations showcase the new generation of technologies and products BMS is developing in the area of coatings, adhesives and sealants," Bryant added.

BMS specialists will be on hand to discuss their latest products and innovations. They will offer insight into Bayer's self-healing coatings technologies, aliphatic polyisocyanates and polyurethane dispersions, as well as new developments in light-stable sprayable thick film coatings, and ultra-low VOC 2K waterborne coatings.
"The ACS is the perfect venue to remind contractors and applicators that polyurethane coatings that incorporate raw materials from BMS have a long, successful track record that many competitive materials can't match," Aleta Richards, vice president - coatings.
