New Model Adds Tremendous Value to Member Company Training Programming; Avery Dennison, Resinall Corporation and 3M Sign On to New Program

Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) will produce 15 live Training Academy webinars in 2016; the technical and business oriented topics will range from “New Predictive Approaches in Product Safety” to “Sealant Testing and Advances in Outdoor Weathering.” These live, 1 to 1.5 hour long educational programs are designed to provide ASC member company personnel with technical insights, emerging trends and critical information that supports both learning and training objectives for individuals and corporations. The program is also open to industry attendees.

Created in 2012, ASC’s Training Academy has delivered between 12-15 live webinars to the adhesive and sealant industry each year, with an average of 400 attendees participating annually. These live webinars then become part of the Council’s On-Demand services, and include 30+ titles that are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

“ASC’s Training Academy has been a powerful component to ASC Member Companies’ training efforts, as we are able to bring new speakers and insights to members in a simple, engaging format via our web platform,” says Matthew E. Croson, President of ASC. “We have evolved the program to include an on-demand component, and this year, will add value via a new subscription pricing model which will deliver considerable savings and flexibility for member companies and add value to their membership in the Council.”

NEW SUBSCRIPTION MODEL SAVES MONEY WHILE DELIVERING VALUE

ASC will offer two subscription models beginning in January 2016. Three ASC member companies have already purchased an unlimited subscription plan for their organization including Avery Dennison, Resinall Corporation and 3M. The subscription options include:

Full Corporate Subscriptions – Participating companies receive access to all live Training Academy webinars, access to the Council’s entire OnDemand webinar library, and can send an unlimited number of personnel through the Council’s developing Certificate Program, which will launch in the first quarter. Pricing for this program is $3,500 for members and $5,000 for non-members.

Lite Corporate Subscriptions – Participating companies receive access to all live Training Academy webinars, access to all of the Council’s On Demand webinars, and can send up to four employees through the Council’s developing Certificate Program. Pricing for this program is $1,800 per year for members and $2,500 for non members.

A La Carte Pricing Model Continues – ASC members and non-members will continue to be able to connect to Training Academy programs by paying on a per event basis, if they do not wish to purchase a subscription plan. Individual line Pricing will be $199 for members and $249 for non-members (2 person max), per event, or corporate pricing of $499 for members and $549 for non-members, who wish to broadcast to many attendees for two access lines (sites.)

Pricing for Certificate Program Only - for those interested in registering for the ASC Adhesive and Sealant Certificate Program only, discounted webinar pricing will also be available. Pricing for each employee to access the required 12 course selections for the certificate program will be $900 per employee for members (compared with $2,388 a la carte) and $2,000 per employee for non-members (compared with $2,988 a la carte.)

“The new subscription model is a clear example of the power of association – the Council has leveraged its member resources – reserves built up over time – to deliver a cost effective training program that allows your current and new business and technical employees to be trained, educated and brought up to speed on emerging trends – at an extremely affordable price,” adds Croson. “We project a full corporate subscription will save a company thousands if they went to the open market to find the training we are delivering. We are pleased to see that three members have already purchased subscriptions for their organizations.”

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN FINAL DEVELOPMENT STAGE

One of the value drivers of the subscription program is ASC’s soon-to-be-launched Certificate Program.

This program has been in development for the past 12 months, and will include six Core fundamental courses, and six electives relevant to specific adhesive technology or chemistry needed. The program is designed as a new employee training program which will deliver fundamentals of learning to ensure new hires are up to speed on adhesive and sealant technology, testing and terminology.

Fundamentals of adhesives and sealants, polymer science, adhesion, formulating and testing are all part of the Core program, and then participants can choose six electives from the Training Academy to round out their learning in technologies and chemistries of interest.

The 12-class Certificate Program will have proficiency exams for each course and have a la carte pricing as well, to provide flexibility in pricing.

“ASC’s Certificate program will help ensure your newly hired chemist or sales professional, who may have been in chemicals sales, now has a strong understanding of adhesives and sealants from both a technical and business perspective,” says Croson. “Imagine the new employee jumping right into this type of training as part of a company on-boarding process; this is our goal – to deliver fundamentals training and begin a long journey of delivering educational oriented value alongside each new employee as they start their career leveraging ASC Training Academy materials.”
