Record Crowd Attends Spring Convention in Nashville

Expanded EXPO, Strong Technical Content, Networking Draws Industry

Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) drew 592 total attendees to its Spring Convention and EXPO held April 20-22 in Nashville, TN.  The 592 attendees are a record for both the Spring and Fall Convention, not including the year ASC hosted the World Adhesive Conference.  Total attendance includes full paid attendees, partial or one-day attendees, EXPO participants, speakers and media.

“Based on the preliminary results of the post-Convention survey, attendees were drawn to this year’s event for the EXPO, strong technical content, and numerous networking oriented events,” notes Matthew E. Croson, President of ASC.  “It’s clear our strategy of expanding the EXPO, adding strong technical content, and including as many networking opportunities as possible is paying dividends as the industry comes together to stay aware of innovation, keep up with formulation strategies and meet other industry professionals.”

The Spring Convention was held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.  This year’s programming included bio-based adhesive formulation, raw materials, building and construction, and regulatory affairs oriented tracks.  Overall, there were 45 sessions held over the 2 day period.  In addition, the EXPO included 85 exhibits, the largest number of exhibits the Council has ever had for a Spring or Fall Convention.

“Our Long Range Plan includes a focus on innovation, and one of the best sources of innovation for the formulation community are our raw materials suppliers, which is why we focus considerable time and attention to the EXPO,” adds Croson.  “Having new raw materials suppliers participating in the EXPO provides the opportunity for our formulating members to focus on what’s new, what’s different and have considerable dialogue in order to innovate based on customer needs.”

In addition to the programming and EXPO, the Spring Convention provided ample opportunities to network, including a Golf Outing, Welcome Reception, New Member Lunch, EXPO Reception, and Closing Reception.

“The ASC Spring Convention and EXPO is one of the primary value drivers of Council membership, and we appreciate the support of our members, EXPO participants and programming committee as they collaborated to make this year’s meeting a success,” notes Croson.  “We also look forward to coming together at our Fall Convention this October 19-21 in Pittsburgh, PA.  For a list of our upcoming events, please visit www.ascouncil.org/events.”
