Aquatech Awarded Water Project for Pearl GTL Project

CANONSBURG, Penn., 20 March 2007 - Aquatech International Corporation recently received a contract for the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) Project in Qatar. Sponsored by Qatar Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell), Pearl GTL is not only the world's largest integrated GTL project, but also the largest energy project ever launched within the borders of Qatar.

The scope of the contract covers the installation of a large Demineralization and Condensate Polishing Plant that will treat a total of 4,500 M3/Hr (20,000 GPM) of flow. Aquatech was chosen through a competitive bidding process and will execute the project in conjunction with JGC/Kellogg, the project's management contractor.

Aquatech has also done similar work for Shell's joint venture Nanhai petrochemical complex in China in 2005 and facilities for refineries in Thailand and the Philippines in the 1990s.

This award is a welcome addition to Aquatech's significant track record in winning and executing water projects for the petrochemical industry. This is the seventh Middle East petrochemical project awarded to Aquatech in the past year.

"Over the past 15 years we have worked very closely with Shell and have gained an in-depth understanding of their technical specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements. We are honored to have been selected for this project and we see it as a validation of our previous work for this most important client," said Devesh Sharma, Aquatech's Executive Vice President.

The Pearl GTL complex is situated at Ras Laffan Industrial City, 80 km north of Doha, Qatar.
