Call for Nominations for Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee



Deadline is August 21, 2015



The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites nominations from interested persons to serve on the Institute’s Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee (PCAC). Nominations must be received by August 21, 2015, and are for 3-year terms beginning January 1, 2016.



The Nominations Committee of the PCAC seeks national experts in the fields of personnel certification, accreditation, and policy development. Specific duties of committee membership include creating recommended policies and procedures for the ANSI Personnel Certification Accreditation Program, determining the accreditation status of certification bodies that have applied for initial accreditation or are undergoing their annual surveillance accreditation process, and providing input and advice to ANSI staff regarding operational issues.



Although all individuals with expertise/knowledge in personnel certification, accreditation, and/or policy development are encouraged to apply, preference will be given this year to individuals with a background in the following areas:



National/state licensing

Employer/industry/HR

Career, technical, and vocational education

Healthcare/manufacturing/Financial



ANSI’s Personnel Certification Accreditation Program verifies a certification body’s compliance with requirements outlined in the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024, General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Systems of Persons. In conducting its accreditation activities, ANSI follows the International Standard ISO/IEC 17011:2004, Conformity assessment -- General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies.



Since the inception of the program in 2003, the Institute has accredited 53 personnel certification bodies for 184 certification programs. In total, over 5.2 million professionals currently hold certifications from ANSI-accredited personnel credentialing bodies.
