ANSI Committee revises ANSI C80.3- and ANSI C80.5-2015 standards.

As announced by NEMA, ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C80 revised ANSI C80.3-2015, Electrical Metallic Tubing—Steel (EMT-S), and ANSI C80.5-2015, Electrical Rigid Metal Conduit—Aluminum (ERMC-A). ANSI C80.3 added requirements for alternate corrosion resistant coating and updated normative references, while ANSI C80.5 includes revised product marking requirements. ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C80 Revises ANSI C80.3-2015 Electrical Metallic Tubing-Steel (EMT-S) and ANSI C80.5-2015 Electrical Rigid Metal Conduit-Aluminum (ERMC-A)



ROSSLYN, Va. —The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) announced that ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C80 revised ANSI C80.3-2015 Electrical Metallic Tubing—Steel (EMT-S) and ANSI C80.5-2015 Electrical Rigid Metal Conduit—Aluminum (ERMC-A).



ANSI C80.3 covers the requirements for steel EMT for use as a raceway for wires or cables of an electrical system. This revision includes added requirements for alternate corrosion resistant coating and updated normative references.



ANSI C80.5 covers the requirements for porthole-extruded aluminum-alloy conduit used as a raceway for the wires or cables of an electrical system. This revision included revised product marking requirements.



Both ANSI C80.3-2015 and ANSI C80.5-2015 are available in hard copy or download for $63 on the NEMA website.
