AMCA International Revises AMCA Standard 500-L and Publication 511
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. announces the revision of ANSI/AMCA Standard 500-L, Laboratory Methods of Testing Louvers for Rating, and AMCA Publication 511, Product Rating Manual for Air Control Devices.
The new designation for 500-L is ANSI/AMCA Standard 500-L-12 (Rev. 2015). It was approved by AMCA membership October 28, 2015, and it was approved by the American National Standards Institute on December 3, 2015.AMCA Standard 500-L is designed to establish uniform laboratory test methods for louvers.
New to AMCA Standard 500-L is a test procedure for rating sand louvers, a matter of particular interest to the Middle East region.
The new designation for 511 is AMCA Publication 511-10 (Rev. 2015). The revised AMCA Publication 511 was adopted by AMCA membership December 29, 2015. It dictates proper presentation of data and other required technical procedures for certification of air control devices under the AMCA Certified Ratings Program. In this edition of AMCA Publication 511, the certification of sand louvers was added, making it possible for manufacturers to certify sand louver ratings for air performance and wind-driven sand rejection.
